Winnie dog available for adoption
  • Location: UK Foster home in Nottinghamshire
  • Wally is small size, and weighs around 10kg. He is estimated at around 10 years old, but we think he could be younger.
  • Wally has come back into the Rescue as his owner was no longer able to take care of him.
  • He gets on well with people, especially ladies, however he lives with both a male and female foster parents and he gets on with both just fine.
  • He can sometimes be wary of men, however this has not been the case in his current foster home.
  • Walter is looking for a confident owner, who can give him firm boundaries and provide reassurance that he has nothing to fear.
  • Whilst he does enjoy a snooze in his bed or in the sunshine outside, he also loves his walks.  He is therefore looking for a home that can give him at least one good walk each day, or 2 shorter walks, as he needs to be exercised regularly and continue to enjoy the big wide world around him.
  • He would also need a home where he is not left on his own for long periods of time, as he enjoys the company of his “humans”.
  • Wally currently lives with several other foster dog siblings, who he tolerates OK, but does not interact or want to play with them at all.
  • He would be best suited to a home as an only dog, so he can enjoy having you all to himself, but would need boundaries in place so he doesn’t become over protective of this owner(s)
  • Out on walks he is confident, and walks well on his harness and lead.  He enjoys a good sniff and can walk for a good hour at a time.
  • He loves his food, and does a little dance at mealtimes.
  • He settles to sleep at night on his own in a bed in the kitchen
  • Due to him being an older dog, Wally would need a home with no children, and older visiting grandchildren
  • He is microchipped, fully vaccinated and neutered, and will arrive in any new home with his own passport clearly outlining all the various tests and vaccinations he has had (in line with DEFRA rules and regulations).  He will also come with a full APHA (UK) Certificate for Brucellosis which is NEGATIVE.
  • If you think you can offer Wally a home that meets his needs, please complete the Application Form.
