Reviews from Adopters & Fosterers
Adopting a rescue dog is a big decision, and here at Elcee’s Rescue we work hard to make sure that our dogs and their Adopters’ needs are met.
We pride ourselves in the amount support we give any adopter, to always ensure we answer any questions they may have about the dogs, or give help and advice generally on the adoption process.
When any dog moves to their new home, we like to stay in touch, and receive regular updates and receive lots or pictures and videos of our dogs enjoying all their new and exciting adventures life has to offer.
Here are our latest reviews.
Delta
We are so grateful to Elcee’d dog rescue, they found us, over a very short period of time, our new 4 legged companion.
Having seen several picture of potential dogs I completed the application form, received a call from Elcee’s, and arrangements were made for us to visit the very nice foster home where we met Delta, our new dog to be, and his Foster parents.
We were told and shown what they knew about him and we saw him enjoying himself with one of his rescue pal. Arrangements were then made for a home check, and from start to finish this was all done in less than 30 days.
It was amazing how smooth and efficient everything was done to ensure both dog and adopters could have the best possible outcome. Thank you to all involved with this remarkable effort in rescuing these unfortunate souls

Whilst we looked for our forever paws friend, I was in touch with a number of dog rescues, but contacting them wasn’t easy, and they never got back to me, even to say we weren’t successful. So sad.
I was recommended to check out Elcee’s by a friend who had also successfully adopted from them. The interest form was easy to complete, and I sent it in expecting the usual silence. But no, I had a reply the next day, and was able to chat in more detail with Elcee’s about our circumstances.
We were quickly matched to the dog we liked, and then the communication started. We were added to a group chat with both Elcee’s, the home checker and the UK foster whilst formalities and logistics were in progress.
It was brilliant. We were informed at every step and felt included in the plans. And now we have successfully adopted our pawfriend, the support continues.
Elcees are very accessible, quick to answer any queries, very supportive, and have their dogs’ well-being foremost in their work.
I highly recommend that anyone looking to adopt a dog contact Elcee’s and support their work saving dogs from the kill shelters.

Bella
We have just adopted Bella from Elcee’s Rescue and found the process very easy from start to finish.
We saw Bella on the Web site, filled in online application form, got a phone call from the Rescue and arranged a meet and greet.
We decided we loved Bella and paid a deposit, so the Rescue arranged a home check.
The report was sent back to the Rescue immediately and we arranged to pay the fee and collect her.
The whole process only took a week from start to finish.
Thank you Elcee’s Rescue

We had a very positive experience first fostering, and then adopting, our lovely Romanian rescue puppy, Oscar, through Elcee’s.
We approached them slightly nervously after a previous experience with a different rescue organisation, who had asked us to foster a dog at short notice but were not entirely up front about the dog’s behavioural challenges. Our worries were ill-founded. Elcee’s were very open, transparent, and helpful throughout the whole process.
The dog we originally expressed interest in had already been snapped up by another adopter, but they informed us that she had a brother from the same litter who also needed a home, and after some consideration we agreed.
They were very informative and supportive regarding the arrangements for the dog coming over. We were worried about adopting without meeting the dog, particularly as we already have a rescue dog and wanted to be sure they would get on well before making any permanent decision. Elcee’s accommodated this by letting us foster with a view to adopt.
The process of the dogs coming over was smooth, and we were well informed at every stage. After Oscar arrived, Elcee’s offered continued support, including putting us in touch with other local fosters who helped advise us on training and behaviour. They also put us in a WhatsApp group (with everyone’s consent, of course) with the person who adopted Oscar’s sister, Nell, who lives nearby. This allowed us to share notes and arrange play dates, which has been very positive for Oscar and lovely for us all to see.
We’ve felt really well supported throughout, and the folks at Elcee’s have been absolutely lovely and very helpful.
I would highly recommend adopting through Elcee’s — they care deeply about the dogs they rescue and about providing them with the best possible life. They are thoroughly decent, kind, and professional people, and a top notch organisation.

Poppy (was Praline)
This is Poppy we fostered with a view to adopt from Elcee’s rescue.
We choose Elcee’s rescue because I no how passionate Lynne and the team are about doing everything possible for the welfare of the dogs all the way though the adoption process, and every single penny raised goes towards the dogs (because in my experience this isn’t always the case in dog rescue).
We decided to foster first to make absolutely sure Poppy would get on with our other older rescue Roxy as it has to be right for both dogs.
Lynne was absolutely supportive all the way though the process Poppy was booked on transportation, and I was so impressed with how the dogs were looked after on board the transport van. Lynne sent me details so I could track Poppy all the way through, and Lynne was on hand to answer any questions.
Poppy arrived safe and I was given all the relevant advice as to what to expect over the coming weeks . It takes time for dogs to decompress and realise they are save and loved, which Poppy certainly is. Roxy has accepted Poppy and they play and sleep together which is perfect.
My experience with Elcee’s has been brilliant. From when I was first looking for another dog I never felt rushed into any decisions. Foster with a view to adopt was the perfect way forward for me, with all the help and experience you could want.
I can’t thank Elcee’s enough . They really do care about the dogs and work tirelessly to achieve the best homes for each dog.. I would totally recommend Elcee’s they really do care ![]()

The process of adopting Chester was very straightforward. I saw Chester on Facebook, looking for adoption or foster. Because we already have an elderly dog, we thought foster with a view to adoption would be a good way to proceed so I messaged Elcee’s Rescue.
They asked me to fill in an application form, which I did. The next day I received a phone call from Lynne, and we talked about Chester and my previous experience with rescue dogs. I said I would like to proceed, so a date was arranged for a home check.
The lady who came was lovely, and we answered some questions and she checked that the garden was safe and secure. We were then told when Chester would be travelling to the UK, and sent information about caring for him after such a long journey.
After Chester arrived with us, the rescue stayed in touch regularly, so I could tell them about his progress and they could answer any questions I had. They offered advice, and I knew they were there if I needed them.
Once we knew that Chester would be ok with our resident dog we proceeded with the adoption, and he is now very much a member of the family.
I chose Elcee’s because I felt that they were concerned about placing dogs in the right home, not just any home, and I know that Elcee’s will be there if I need support in the future..

Nell (was Jasmine)
From the initial enquiry to current time I have found everyone at Elcee’s to be very caring and helpful . The effort put into facilitating our meet and greet was very much appreciated, as was your agreement to us fostering Nell prior to us adopting her.
The fact that all of her vaccinations were up to date and paperwork provided was again first class. The follow up support from Sandra and Simon (Nell’s fosters) has been essential to us getting where we are today.
Our dogs have only been rescue dogs and although there have been initial teething problems with Nell, contact and support (including putting us in touch with a behaviourist at the Rescue’s expense for further advice) was, and is still there for us to take advantage of.
We know it takes time for them to settle. We are determined to get through this as we are sure there is a super little dog somewhere behind the scared and anxious exterior.

We found the process of adopting Rocco a good experience.
Everyone involved at the Rescue has been helpful and supportive. Rocco’s foster parents were also helpful and supportive.
The first week I would say is a settling down period. Lynne and Sandra and Carrie (foster Mum) were there to advise and offer support.
I would recommend Elcee’s rescue to anyone interested in adopting a dog. We have been lucky with Rocco as he didn’t come with any issues we couldn’t cope with. Only small habits which can improve with a little training and time to implement .
We waited until I retired to adopt a dog which had worked well for us . I would hope more people consider a rescue dog from Elcee’s Rescue, as they have so much love to give and with support and advice from the Rescue, it can be such a worthwhile move for everyone.

Florence (was Fleur)
We came across Elcee’s on Facebook and were thinking about getting another rescue dog. We saw Fleur (now Florence) and just fell in love with her.
The form was easy to complete and I am glad they ask you for a variety of questions which personally I think is needed when getting a dog.
Lynne made contact and asked for a video of the garden to ensure it is secure for a dog. We then arranged to go meet Florence and Lynne was lovely and welcoming we took our current dog and Florence for a walk and luckily they got on.
We then had a home check for the garden which we passed and then the final stage the payments the paperwork and a date to adopt.
Everything was straightforward and Lynne was there if I needed her and what I like is that they are always there for the future if needed.
I would certainly recommend getting a dog from Elcee’s they are so passionate about what they do and this is all done through fundraising they are a special sort of people.
I cannot thank you enough for bringing Florence into our life. Keep up the good work

When we saw Dexter through Elcee’s Rescue we were keen to explore further.
We are a very active, retired couple living in Yorkshire with the time, patience and space to bring a new dog into the home.
We contacted Lynne, and it was agreed we could take Dexter on a foster with a view to adopt situation. A home check was done shortly after and it wasn’t long before Dexter was on his way.
He is handsome, energetic, friendly, inquisitive pup, and has fitted in perfectly to our family and lifestyle.
He loves to socialise and play with other dogs in the family (all rescues) and we are starting with puppy classes soon.
We feel very lucky to have Dexter, as our home has come to life again.
We can’t thank Elcee’s enough and would recommend them to anyone thinking of getting a Rescue dog.

Wilma & Maisy (was Bailey)
After deciding we were ready for our next furry family members, I began specifically looking for a bonded pair. It didn’t take long for Elcee’s Rescue to pop up on my news feed with a picture of a Momma and her Pup.
After reading about how much the rescue wanted to keep these two together and then doing a little research, it didn’t take long for me to feel that this was a rescue I’d like to adopt from. Being very keen not to let these lovely girls pass me by, I expressed my interest straight away.
The very next day Lynne contacted me, it was really clear how much Lynne wanted the best for these dogs as she talked me through their past and present circumstances in Romania. Lynne told me how happy the girls were when together, playing and comforting one another.
I knew straight away I wanted to move ahead with the next steps to adoption. Lynne talked me through the process and kept in touch with me throughout. The organisation of homechecks and other elements of my application went seamlessly. Lynne helped us make arrangements for us to meet the girls, linking us to the foster carers, and we soon travelled to meet them.
This gave us an opportunity to find out more, ask questions and spend time walking and playing with the girls in a safe environment. Members from the team also met with us to talk though the final stages of the adoption, confirming the things we needed to do and providing lots of advice.
The following day we brought home our lovely Wilma and Maisy (was Bailey) we were, and continue to be besotted with them both!
Since the adoption Lynne and Sandra from Elcee’s rescue have stayed in touch – they have continued to offer support and advice, and have been happy to receive updates and photos of the girls as they are settling into their forever home.
From the beginning the process and on-going support has been fantastic – I have absolutely zero complaints. It is very clear the team are passionate about finding loving homes for the dogs in their care.
We truly feel confident in having made the right decision welcoming Wilma and Maisy into our home and hearts, and would recommend Elcee’s Rescue to anyone looking to foster or adopt a furry companion. Thank you so much for bringing us our girls, we love them so much ![]()

We found our little Barney boy through Elsee’s dog rescue .
We found the process very good and Lynne and Sandra very helpful with everything we needed to know from the start to the final adoption.
They are still there after adoption . Love the fact they like to receive updates and photo’s and still there for your questions.
You’re not alone and are able to get help if you need it.

Jimmy
I have recently adopted Jimmy from Elcee’s Rescue and have found the whole process excellent all round and a very positive experience.
The admin team were great with their communication and very responsive to my messaging. From my first initial enquiry, Lynne got back to me to ask for more information on my background and what I could offer Jimmy. I was then given details for his owner so we could chat and arrange a meet and greet with Jimmy to see if we were a good match.
The home-check was then arranged very swiftly and undertaken by a lovely lady local to me. Once this was approved, things moved quite quickly and Jimmy came home to live with me.
Elcee’s Rescue were very thorough with all their checks and went above to help rehome Jimmy for his owner, for what was a difficult decision for them. I will definitely recommend Elcee’s as a rescue and share their posts to find homes for their rescues.

Nell (was Nala)
I have loved fostering Nala (now Nell) for the past 6 weeks. It’s been a learning curve for me, but thanks to the amazing support of Lynne and Sandra, who have been there every step of the way like the best cheerleaders.
I have now formally adopted her. She has gone from a little dog who was afraid of her own shadow and terrified to step out the door to being far more confident around people, especially loving being around my grandkids and and doing so well with her training.
There is still a way to go but I’m seeing steady progress every single day and am so proud of her unfailing courage and willingness to let love and trust in to her world.
I couldn’t imagine my life without her now. Thank you so much to Elcee’s for putting your trust in me, all your knowledge, support and always being available with good advice and to cheer us on!

Annie
We found the Adoption process for Annie really quick and easy. Although we live in Wiltshire some 3 hours drive from Nottingham, it was Annie’s face that did it! We asked if we could go and see her before we had had the home inspection which was agreed.
Having met her I messaged on the way home to say could we proceed, this was on a Saturday, before we got home I received a message to advise a home visited had been instructed. We were visited on Wednesday and passed inspection. We then went back up to Nottingham on the Friday and the rest is history.
We found the adoption very easy, friendly and quick. All fees and legalities were explained before we signed up for the adoption.
A note about Annie. We do have 2.5 acres of field and garden and she just loves having the room to run around and interact with our border collie. She is like a constant shadow, especially my husband if he is doing anything interesting outside. She loves being outside but does not like staying out in the garden if we are not out there even though Ben our collie, is out there. She sleeps on her own bed but in our room and has done from Day 1. She does snore very loudly, well its a competition between her and my husband to see who can snore the loudest.
She has gained weight and her coat is now very glossy. She really is a beautiful dog and seems to be well entrenched in our family. Very good on walks does like to chase deer and squirrels but is a good girl for coming back. She has a lot of toys which she loves playing with and has an extremely hearty appetite but is very food orientated but expect this comes from being in a shelter maybe and possibly having to fight for food.
Wishing you every success with the Rescue you are doing a wonderful job.

Rupert (was Brian)
Adopting Rupert through Elcee’s was such a rewarding experience. From the very beginning, the team showed genuine care and commitment to making sure every step of the process was right for Rupert.
They took every precaution to ensure he would be safe and happy — even going the extra mile (or flight!) to get to grips with his journey to the Isles of Scilly. They were willing to step into the unknown and make it possible for a rescue dog to come all this way.
Now that they’ve gained experience with this extra leg of the journey, I hope it will open the door for many more dogs to find loving homes here too.
A special mention must go to the home checker Beth, who was a fabulous volunteer throughout and clearly passionate about the dogs and their new families.
Rupert has settled beautifully and brings so much joy to our lives. We’re so grateful to Elcee’s for the care and dedication they put into giving rescue dogs the chance of a happy new life.
The risk is most definitely worth the reward

Having decided to get another dog having lost our elderly dog last year, we were keen to rehome and adopt rather than buy. There are so many dogs in need of a loving home.
We came across Elcees Rescue Dogs for Adoption. Lynne from the Rescue and Sue, our selected dog’s foster carer, made the process straightforward.
We were able to meet Barney and see him in a home environment which was important to us.
Lynne provided guidance with the adoption and we have felt supported throughout the process and continue to be as Barney settles into his new home with us.![]()

Adopting Luna through Elcee’s Rescue was an incredibly positive experience from start to finish. The team were warm, friendly, and clearly passionate about finding the right homes for their dogs. They were knowledgeable, patient, and always willing to help, no question was too small, and their dedication was truly heartwarming.
They made sure Luna was the perfect match for me, and their support didn’t stop once the adoption was completed. You can tell they genuinely care about both the dogs and the people they work with. I felt supported every step of the way.
If you’re thinking about adoption, I can’t recommend Elcee’s Rescue highly enough. Thanks to them, Luna is now a beloved part of our family.

We are so grateful to this amazing rescue team for bringing Leo into our lives.
From start to finish, they were kind, patient, and truly dedicated to making sure every dog finds the perfect home.
Leo’s foster mum was wonderful — caring, supportive, and so thoughtful during the whole process. When Leo met our other dog, Charlie, it was love at first sight! Watching them bond has been such a joy.
We can’t thank the team enough for the love, care, and effort they put into every rescue. They don’t just change dogs’ lives — they change families’ lives too. ![]()

Olive (was Karina)
From the moment l contacted Elcee’s Rescue Dogs For Adoption everything ran like clockwork. From the initial contact, home check, meeting our new pup, completing the contract to collection of our Olive.
If a member of the team said they’d call, they’d called. If you expected a text/WhatsApp/phone call it happened. It’s clear this lovely team want the dogs in their care to go to the right forever home from the get go.
After adoption the team will contact you for updates and if you do take part in social media, to post on their ‘Dogs Living Their Best Life’ page. I do social media and it’s nice to show Olive to all the other dog-parents whilst she’s settling in. My experience with Elcee’s Dog Rescue has been very positive. Thank you for letting us adopt Olive.

The adoption was straight forward once we had our garden assessed for security purposes .
It was basically meet and greet . We decided to book a hotel and stay for a couple of days that way we could meet and see if we gelled with them and they with us.
We met them
and decided there and then that we were doing the right thing .
They came home with us the next day . They settled like a duck to water.

Fostering Sam was very straight forward , filling in the forms and with lots of back up from Lynne and Carol. Any questions answered very quickly .
The lady Karen that came to do the home check was lovely , on time and very knowledgeable. Lynne and Carol were easy to contact and very quick to reply.
Sam is a fabulous character , very uncertain about the house living and sharing with 3 other dogs , but with a good routine he soon realised he was safe and his new dog friends weren’t a threat.
Then when, as Sam had settled so well and was my shadow , I decided maybe adoption was the way forward. This was also straight forward with Lynne and Carol keeping in touch and answering any questions.
Sam is an absolute treasure after all he had been through .

We were first time adopters and very new to the process. However we found the procedure very straightforward.
We completed an Application Form online and were contacted by Lottie’s foster mum, Lynne, who ran through the procedure in detail over the phone and we arranged an appointment to view Lottie.
We immediately fell in love with Lottie and after further discussions arranged to adopt. Lottie’s foster mum arranged for us to collect Lottie at a place equidistant for us and Lottie was ours ![]()
Lottie came with all her documentation, blanket and treats. Once home Lottie settled in very quickly and immediately became a new much loved addition to our family.
I can highly recommend Elcee’s Rescue and cannot thank them enough for introducing us to our lovely Lottie.

Maria
We adopted lovely Maria. She is so affectionate & has settled into her new home really quickly.
We found Elcee’s Rescue to be very responsive to our initial inquiries and the adoption process was underway very quickly.
Maria’s Foster mum gave us an extensive handover of Maria’s needs and personality, which was really useful.
Once we had all agreed that Maria was the dog for us The Rescue set up a WhatsApp group for those involved in Maria’s transfer to our care – plus lots of lovely photos!!
It was all very straightforward and we’re grateful to Elcee’s Rescue for the new girl in our family.

The adoption process is very easy to do. Just fill in the application form on the Website. You will be required to answer a few questions on various things such as working hours etc but all understandable as you and your new furbaby need to be suitable to each other .
You are then contacted by one of the Elcee’s Team for a friendly chat all the team are lovely. If you are successful, a team member will visit you and your property mainly the garden to see its a secure environment.
Ted also came to meet us and it felt like we had always known him . It was very informal and we all enjoyed meeting each other .
All was discussed such as Ted’s age that he had seen a vet in Romania had been vaccinated and neutered , and had blood tests etc. He then came to UK.
The dogs are all very well cared for and everything is explained in a friendly manner
.I was impressed with the whole process, one that the dogs are so carefully placed which is important that they have a forever happy home and two how easy it all was explained and actioned.
I had not had a rescue dog before although I have had dogs for most of my adult life , but would definitely recommend using Elcee’s Rescue for their care and attention to detail and for finding us our beautiful Ted .

Dog: Milo (was Nero)
I saw a gorgeous picture of Nero on facebook, and after applying online, I was contacted by phone the same day, and a home visit was organised.
The foster family were so lovely, was an amazing service to bring the dog to meet our family, they were very helpful and so caring.
The adoption process was amazing, we asked if we could trial Nero for a couple of days to see how he integrated with our cockapoo, we signed up as foster carers prior to that happening and then it transitioned into an adoption as he fit in like a glove.
We were offered options if we wanted to hand him back until the adoption process was complete, they were willing to help us do what worked for us.
I am so incredibly grateful for the ongoing support by Elsee’s, they are keen to see his progress, and are at the end of the phone if we need any support.
I would highly recommend Elsee’s Dog Rescue, they were and still are fabulous!

It’s only two weeks but it feels like he’s been with us forever.
We were devastated to lose our beloved dog Austin, in May, but Dylan has helped to heal our hearts and make our house come alive again.
He is very shy and nervous but is settling well and we are taking things very slowly.
We are indebted to Elcee’s Rescue and in particular Lynne. The whole process was so supportive from our initial discussion, through the meet and greets with Lynne and Dylan, to our final adoption.
We felt reassured throughout and our vet was very impressed with all our paperwork from Elcee’s and in particular the brucellosis testing.
Elcee’s Rescue may rescue dogs, but they also rescue us humans as well! We are eternally grateful for our lovely Dylan.
Dog: Layla
Layla is our 2nd adoption from Elcee’s Rescue in a year.
Our first adoption with Betty went so smoothly from the beginning of the adoption process through to completing the process and also back up care afterwards.
The process with Layla was again very straightforward, uncomplicated yet thorough.
We have complete confidence in Elcee’s rescue and cannot recommend them enough, they are an amazing team !

I honestly can’t recommend Elcee’s Dog Rescue enough – the whole experience has been amazing from start to finish. Lynne even came in person to my house to introduce Fern to my current dog, and she stayed and chatted for a while while so Fern (Lizzie) could feel a bit more comfortable. That personal touch really meant a lot.
When I first expressed my interest in Fern, I was contacted really quickly (I think the same evening) and was given loads of information – not just about the adoption process but also about Fern herself, her background, and what to expect. Fern had found as a stray, treated poorly and was understandably cautious and shy. Fern was also found to be partially sighted. Lynne was very honest in explaining that it wouldn’t be an easy process, but it would be worthwhile – and she has been absolutely right!
She even drove for about an hour to bring Fern over, spent time with me and let me see how Fern interacted with my dog. We went for a little walk together and throughout the whole process she kept in touch, sent pictures, updates, asked how I felt – but never in a pushy way. It always felt supportive and reassuring, which I really appreciated compared to some rescues that can make you feel pressured.
Fern herself is the sweetest little soul. When she first arrived, she was so scared, she hid for hours and would flinch when touched. It’s broke my heart to see how fearful she was. However little by little she has been getting braver every day. She follows my other dog around, slowly to started to come closer when I stroked her. She follows my other dog around and now she will even come over for strokes herself. She has never shown any aggression – just pure gentleness – and now she finally stopped flinching when I touch her. It’s honestly amazing to see her personality come out.
The bond between Fern and my other dog is also something I never expected – he has always been a bit anti-social with other dogs, not in an aggressive way, just more that he can’t be bothered if they get in his face. Normally he will just wander off to be near me or go off on his own, but she lies next to him and he lets her. They are getting closer every day and it is so lovely to watch.
Adopting Fern has honestly been one of the best things I have ever done. It isn’t easy – it takes patience and understanding – but it is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences imaginable. Elcee’s were so up front and honest about what to expect, never sugar coating anything, and you can see how much they truly care about the dogs.
Even Lynne’s husband got emotional when he dropped Fern off, which just shows the love they have for these animals.
Fern is now so loved, safe and happy and I’ll forever be grateful to Elcee’s for bringing her into my life. What they do is incredible – we need more people like them in the world.

Well we have just adopted beautiful boy Dougal from Elcee’s Rescue and it couldn’t have been more straight forward.
Lynne was so helpful with any questions or concerns we had, so much that she let us foster him first to make sure he got along with our other rescue Pumpkin.
It quickly became clear he and Pumpkin were going to get along fine, so we rang Lynne who arranged the paperwork for us to sign and it was as easy as that.
We also have lifelong support from Elcee’s Rescue for anything that may crop up. We would recommend anyone who is looking to give a home to a rescue dog to contact them.
Adopted: 13 August 2025
Several months ago I was blessed with welcoming this precious boy into my home and life. I spotted Loki on a rescue group that I’d been following for some time and the instant I saw him I just knew that I had to have him.
I had the pleasure of speaking to Lynne at Elcee’s Rescue on the phone on several occasions and we communicated through messenger lots.
Although I have another rommie rescue the process was a little different as it was a Foster with a View to Adopt placement, and I was worried that it was going to be more complex than my other adoptees. However, Lynne took charge and went ahead and put everything in place for Loki and I, from liaising with the Romanian rescuer to arranging my homecheck, making sure that Loki’s vet checks and his passport and paperwork were all in order prior to him leaving Romania, and following his tracked journey to my home.
Despite running a rescue herself and therefore being incredibly busy, nothing was too much trouble for the ladies at ELCEE’S. It was reassuring that I was never waiting long for responses to questions that I had.
I have no idea what this boy went through in his past as he was so traumatised on arrival and due to a leg amputation he’s still coming to terms with managing on 3 legs. He still doesn’t feel confident enough to come to me but when the time comes it will be so worth the wait.
I’m looking forward to showing him what it’s like to be loved, and to many new adventures. I would implore anyone who may have any doubts about adopting a physically or emotionally damaged soul to give them a chance…you won’t be disappointed.
I’ll be forever grateful to Lynne and Carol at ELCEE’S RESCUE for making this possible for both of us xxxx

I approached Elcee’s Rescue following recommendations from friends who had adopted a lovely dog from them a few months earlier.
We were impressed by the love and professionalism shown by the team and contacted them all ourselves with a view to adopting a lovely beautiful 2 year dog on their website called Nikita.
Every step of the way was meticulously documented and professionally carried out, including the right dog was matched to the right owners.
All paperwork and adoption documentation , passport etc was carried out by Lynne at Elcee’s and all in order for the vet to register NIKITA. WE ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND ELCEE’S RESCUE ![]()

We found the whole adoption process from Elcees was easy when adopting Jet.
We found a picture of gorgeous Jet on their pages and filled in an adoption form. Within an hour I was contacted by Lynne who told us all about him. My husband and I went to meet him in his foster home and were made most welcome.
The next step was to have a home visit, which happened very quickly. We have had Jet several weeks now and he is exactly what we were looking for. A super happy little boy who gets on well with dog, cats and the grandchildren.
I highly recommend Elcee’s and would not hesitate to adopt from them again

After spending over 2 months trying to adopt a dog from the main dog rescue charities, and falling fowl of their systems of operating, a friend told me to search Facebook, where I found Elcee Rescue.
That night I completed the on line form as I’d seen Rosie and fell in love!
The very next day I got a reply and telephone interview call. Within the week my house had been checked and a date given for meeting her. At that meet a further 2 meetings were arranged at my house and within the month Rosie is now in her forever home!
All done and dusted without a complicated procedure, despite us living in different counties!
Rosie came with her passport, Microchipped, spayed and medical history as they knew it and her chip was transferred within 3 days, can’t get better than that!
I cannot fault the care and commitment Lynne has to finding the right match for their dogs and the professionalism shown throughout the process, including following up.
The whole process has been an enjoyable journey.
Thank you – Gina Ward

The adoption process was straight forward, the forms were easy to understand and eastt to complete.
Lynne and Carol are lovely and very knowledgeable and committed to rescue.
The meet and greet we arranged and wasn’t rushed. We had a home visit and final checks/questions leading to the day you take your fur baby home.
It doesn’t stop there, support is there forever and Facebook groups to share photos/adventures.

‘I reached out to Elcee’s Rescue regarding Molly, a lovely French bulldog girl I had seen featured on their socials for adoption.
Carol reached out to me immediately and was extremely helpful in providing me with clear information on both known background details and current behaviour which allowed me to be confident that Molly would be the perfect fit for my other dogs and our home.
Her attitude was both warm but also sensible and pragmatic, with finding the right fit for Molly at the fore. She carried out a great meet and greet and couldn’t have been more helpful in providing photos, answering any questions I had and clearly really cared about Molly who she had been fostering.
When we adopted her she ensured we were fully set up to give her the best care and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house… I hope we will keep in touch so she can see how well Molly is getting on (she is already totally at home and couldn’t be more well behaved) and so that I can keep up with the great work that Elcee’s do.
For a smaller rescue they are making a fantastic impact and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Adopting Mia through Elcee’s Dog Adoption was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish.
Once both Elcee’s and I agreed that I was the right match for Mia, the rest of the process was incredibly smooth and straightforward.
Everything moved quickly and efficiently. The documentation was transferred to me the very same day, and it was all handled with professionalism and care.
I appreciated how simple and stress-free the process was, especially considering how important this step was in bringing such a special dog into my life.
It’s clear that Elcee’s puts the well-being of their dogs first and takes great care in matching them with the right adopters.
I’m so grateful to have Mia in my life, and I can’t thank Elcee’s enough for making it all happen so seamlessly. Highly recommend Elcee’s to anyone looking to adopt – you’ll be in great hands!

We cannot thank Elcees dog rescue enough for saving our little princess Bonnie and allowing us as a family to adopt her.
From the moment we saw the advertisement that she was looking to be adopted we jumped on it as we fell in love with her instantly especially after reading her sad start in life.
The application was easy to complete and Elcee’s Tescue team and her lovely foster carer provided us with all the information we needed.
They go above and beyond making sure the right family fits with the right dog. From the meet and greet to the final stages all went smoothly. They are always there to support you after the adoption process.
We are so lucky to have Bonnie in our family as she has fitted in with no issues. It feels like she was meant to be. It’s amazing to see her playing with our dogs and giving us cuddles.
I would highly recommend Elcee’s Dog Rescue if your looking for a dog as they go above and beyond to help these poor dogs and give them the life they deserve.

Benny… what a beautiful, playful, loving boy he is, as soon as I met him I just knew I had to adopt him, he is currently fitting in with our family and his new buddy jace (our dog) amazing and we couldn’t be happier that we’ll be getting the opportunity to give him the life he deserves. It’s astonishing how well behaved he is to say he’s been taken in off the streets I just want to say a massive thankyou to Lynne for letting us adopt this fluffy little bear and a huge thank you to Kellie, his foster mum, for making the adoption run so smoothly, no hassle or stress as we know you both also want him to go to the right home and that you have 100% found.
Elcee’s Rescue as a whole should be so proud with everything they are doing for these animals…. and lastly, a massive thankyou from Benny that you’ve made this possible for him to finally live a meaningful life.

Millie settled really well from the first day. She gets on well with our other dog, Lucie, who is also an Elcee’s Rescue dog. They play together constantly and fill the house with love and activity.
Millie loves to cuddle and wants to know what you are doing. She loves to walk and walks well with Lucie. They both love to run and play on the beach but Millie is not too keen on the sea!
We now have 2 calm beautiful dogs from Elcee’s Rescue and we have so lucky to have adopted them. We can’t thank them enough for the wonderful work that they do.

Following a period of fostering, I have just adopted the wonderful Murphy.
From the start, communication with Elcee’s has been excellent and I was given a clear and full explanation of the fostering/adoption process. I was encouraged to ask for support if needed and they continue to be on hand to answer questions.
Elcee’s genuinely have their dog’s safety and wellbeing at heart and work extremely hard to find safe, loving homes for their rescues.
I highly recommend Elcee’s Rescue and would like to thank Lynne and Carol for all their help and for making our adoption of Murphy a smooth process.

“I had been looking to adopt a dog for a while & after being on a well known rescue’s waiting list for 6 months, I came across Elcee’s Rescue on social media.
The adoption form was easy to fill in & they contacted me the next day regarding my application & explained the whole process of adoption to me. After being accepted to adopt, Elcee’s Rescue was fantastic & arranged a meet & greet with a lovely little dog which sadly didn’t work out with my other dog.
Elcee’s rescue then helped me to find another dog. Clemmie, whose story was heart-breaking & she came to live with us on a foster to adopt basis.
The foster process was thoroughly explained to me & during the foster period Elcee’s Rescue were very supportive & always available if I needed any help or advice.
Clemmie settled in straight away & after just a week we made her part of our family & she is now loving life on the farm.
I would like to finish by saying Elcee’s Rescue have been amazing & a massive thank you to Lynne for all her help & support.

We made an query and found ourselves waiting for her to arrive!
The process foster-to-adopt was easy and stress free. She was introduced to us, and settled straight in. She is now a part of our family. A beautiful dog from a great Rescue organisation. Many thanks to Carol and Lynne, we can’t recommend these people enough.

“I became a foster for Elcees because I had such a wonderful relationship with one of the founders who had been my foster support for another rescue and when she left to start her own rescue I decided I would become a foster for Elcees, a decision that has been an incredibly rewarding experience.
Elcee’s are so wonderfully supportive. Always on hand to give advice, up to date information are open , honest regarding all aspects of the fostering process including finances and are on my foster journey with me 100%
As a foster this is invaluable . Fostering isn’t always easy but with Elcees it’s so incredibly rewarding and joining them has truly been the best decision we’ve ever made. We are passionate about saving these poor beautiful souls and with Elcees we get to be part of their incredible journey to a wonderful life . We have gone on to adopt a little dog from Elcee’s and again the process was straightforward with no issues whatsoever. We still foster for this wonderful Rescue as it’s amazing to be part of the Elcee’s family.”

‘”Our old jack Russell had to be euthanised a few months ago, and our other JR seemed lost without her, so we started looking for a small dog who needed a home.
We saw a photo of a scruffy dog whose circumstances seemed dire..she wasn’t small but pulled at our heartstrings. We applied to Elcee’s ..we had a very pleasant call during which we explained that we lived in the country with extensive grounds and not a fenced area, just hedging around our fields. After a thorough check we were finally accepted. Elcees rescue were keen to find the right home and very careful to make sure that we would cope with her and keep her safe…anxious times for us.
Happily we now have that scruffy and sad large dog and she is safe and much loved. We were impressed with the thoroughness of Elcees in checking us and they kept us informed all of the way. This large dog is part of our family now Thank you Elcees Dog Rescue “

The process was very smooth and also extremely thorough. Lynne and Jayne were excellent and talked me through every aspect of adoption.
All of Elsa’s medical tests and vaccinations were completed before she arrived (my vet was very impressed!) and I felt really prepared to receive her.
Top marks to Elcee’s! This is a picture of my tiny socks puppet! “

‘We were looking for a rescue dog for a while and came across Elcee’s Rescue on line. I filled in an application form and we were matched with Ava after a thorough phone conversation asking about our lifestyle and home circumstances.
We met Ava for the first time at her foster home where we took her for a walk and learned more about her. Ava was brought to our home twice so she could get to know us a bit more before we finally adopted her. We have had advice and support from Elcees before, during and after the adoption process. Ava is now a much loved addition to our family.
We felt throughout the adoption process that Elcees have the dogs very best interests at heart and take time to make sure the dogs are matched to suitable families “

‘We had a fantastic experience discovering Arthur.
Seeing the pictures of him in the kill shelter was harrowing but Elcee’s did everything they could to get him to a safer place in Romania.
Right from the initial enquiry their knowledge and communication have been second to none.
The transport company that bought him over were incredibly professional and the information and support we’ve received from Jayne, Lynne and Carol has been amazing and continues long after you’ve fostered and adopted a dog.

‘I had a great experience adopting Clover from Elcee’s Dog Rescue. From my very first enquiry about her, I was guided seamlessly through the process by Lynne, who is lovely to deal with and very, very experienced.
I was given lots of information about Clover’s traumatic past and encouraged to chat and ask questions at all stages of the adoption. Visiting Clover in her fosterer’s home and seeing her behaviour for myself was invaluable. It was great that I was able to take my own dogs too.
The home check was thorough and reassuring with good advice given.
Clover has settled so well with us, now, and we’re delighted that Elcee’s trusted us with this priceless soul.
I’d recommend Elcee’s Dog Rescue to anyone looking for a dog to rescue, and wish this hard working, compassionate, and professional team continued success saving dogs in need of love. “

“In the past when we have rescued animals it always involved a couple of visits to check for compatibility etc. It is worth that time because that animal could well be a resident in your home for a decade or so.
Now what happens if you cannot find a suitable companion in this country and you need to look further afield? We did a Google search and saw some lovely looking terriers in Romania looking for their forever homes, but without actually meeting them how do you know if they are the dog for you?
Total trust and an honest description is essential to give confidence to take the next step. We expressed an interest in “Stanley ” as we liked the look of him and so we set the wheels in motion. Lots of communications between us, multiple questions asked and promptly answered, home check organised.
We felt very confident that Stanley was the dog for us and, probably more importantly, Elcee’s were confident that we would provide a suitable home for him.
Before Stanley could leave Romania he had to have a clean bill of health which involved blood tests and a certificate of good health, fortunately he passed with flying colours, he was on his way!
Stanley left Romania on the Saturday morning and was delivered to our house in the early hours of Wednesday morning after a mammoth van journey, a massive wee in the garden and a meeting with “Taff ” our Welsh Springer and we were all ready for a good night’s sleep.
I am delighted to report that Stanley and Taff played together and soon became the best of mates, he is perfectly house trained and we could not have made a better choice.
Stanley has been with us for almost 3 months now and we look forward to a long and happy life together. We are impressed by Elcee’s for not only finding Stanley for us but also their continued concern for him and us to make sure our good relationship continues.

“We cannot believe how well little Willow has settled in.
Initially cousin Sophie was here over Christmas and did show Willow a few things to do.
Sophie has now gone and Willow has now got her own routines. Several small walks with no problems, she doesn’t seem to respond to her name very well yet but comes to a whistle and a little treat (tiny piece of cheese) for responding.
She has her own mind but that’s fine she is very loving and doesn’t seem to be fretting at all. She is now eating her pedigree sachets and enjoying them. She lies looking out window and is barking at squirrels, she was chasing them with Sophie but no more squirrels at the moment. Will keep in touch. Thank you for such an easy and smooth adoption.

“I contacted Lynne at Elcce’s rescue October 24 to help with a foster home for a little one as I wasn’t quite sure I was ready to be a full time dog mum just yet.
Lynne was efficient, honest and amazing throughout the whole process and before I knew it I was awaiting the arrival of a little guest!
The support I received was overwhelming and I didn’t just feel like a fosterer I felt I was part of the Elcce’s family, receiving advice, guidance and sharing lots of updates throughout.
My guest turned into a welcome addition to my life, as I just couldn’t let him go.
The whole process of fostering and adoption was explained in detail and Lynne was always there for us, and still is to this day!
If anyone is thinking of fostering or adopting but isn’t quite sure please contact Elcce’s. Lynne has a wealth of experience and what she has done and continues to do is beyond amazing.

Then, a lovely friend of mine told me about Elcee’s, and now my husband and I are welcoming the gorgeous Max into our lives!

“Just wanted to share our experience adopting two fur-babies from Elcees’s Rescue. We applied for a little dog called Joey who’s picture stole our hearts, after loosing our gorgeous Ralphie a year ago It was time.
Lynne and Jayne were very thorough about everything,
(my work hours, Paul’s work hours, walking and family situation).
It was then suggested as Joey is young and full of energy he would benefit from another similar age and size dog to share life with – so beautiful Lexi was added to our family!
We had a home check and then a meeting with both dogs to see if we were suitable. We met the most amazing people, Julie who was fostering Joey, and Rick who was fostering Lexi, and also Carol, one of the owners of Elcee’s.
When we first say the dogs it was love at first sight ! A date was set for collecting them both, where we also met Lynne, the other owner of Elcee’s.
We couldn’t be happier with the two beautiful dogs we now have.
I will be totally honest it’s a very slow process (as you would expect organising two dogs in 2 different locations etc).
These ladies /men absolutely want the best for their dogs .They are fully assessed in their foster homes, and you have many phone interviews to see what kind of people you are and whether the dog would be suited to the home and lifestyle we could offer.
We think the rescue has been amazing and would highly recommended, if you genuinely want to give a dog (or two
) A forever home
Thank you all again Dawn & Paul Lexi & Joey Xxxx

I made contact with the rescue and they explained how the adoption process worked with them. They arranged a home-check which was fine and a couple of meet and greets to make sure she was suitable and would get on with my dog.
There wasn’t any pressure and Lynne and Carol (who own it) were very helpful and happy to go at my pace.
Hannah arrived a short while afterwards and has settled in really well. They have touched base with me since to make sure everything is going well and has offered support in the future if I am to need it.
After trying a few other rescues, unsuccessfully, Elcee’s Rescue was a breath of fresh air and I would highly recommend them

“We adopted Matilda 7 weeks ago after I saw her photo in the Romanian kill shelter and couldn’t leave her there to her fate.
The adoption procedure with Elcee’s was professional, thorough and ensured the complete safety of their rescued dogs.
We arranged to meet Matilda and her lovely fosterer at a mutually convenient place and fell in love with Matilda as soon as we saw her.
We have 2 existing dogs at home and the introduction process was hard at first. Matilda took to our youngest dog the most and wants only to play with her but she doesn’t have a stop button so it has taken a lot of understanding, hard work and patience to show Matilda she cannot rule the roost and that Daisy our other dog has to be allowed to “say no” to Matilda and have her own space, which is ongoing.
Matilda just loves Daisy so much! Matilda is the sweetest happiest little dog and loves us all to bits, as we do her.
For us, rescue is the best and only way to have a dog. The love and gratitude they give is overwhelming, especially when you know the terrible lives they have come from. To see her happy little face and constantly wagging tail every day is the biggest reward ever.
Thankyou Elcee’s. Xxxx

I messaged on FB to express an interest and completed an application form. We then spoke with Lynne at length as I wanted to get an understanding of Elcees Rescue and the adoption process.
I had a few calls with Lynne who was more than happy to spend time answering all my questions and offer advice. Carol did a home visit and when we were given the all clear we went to meet Ted who was with his Foster. We were smitten!
Both Carol and Lynne were very thorough and ensure the actions taken are in the best interest of the dog and the adopter. The process from the initial point of contact to when we received Ted has been great. Support has been provided throughout the process and still now that we have Ted.
Ted is so well behaved, his Foster has done a fabulous job. He’s settling in very nicely.
