  • Location: UK Foster home in Perth,  Scotland
  • Jake is a small, gentle soul with a truly sad history. Originally from Romania, he was found in a kill shelter after suffering severe injuries from a dog attack.
  • Despite everything he’s been through, Jake has shown remarkable strength and resilience—he fought hard, recovered, and is now ready to find a loving forever home where he can finally feel safe and secure.
  • Jake is believed to be middle-aged and is small in size—around the length of an extra-long Jack Russell.
  • He has a calm nature and enjoys a quiet, relaxed lifestyle. His favourite things include curling up on the sofa, checking in on his humans, and soaking up affection once he knows he can trust you.
  • Jake forms a strong bond with his person and looks to them for reassurance in new or uncertain situations. Once he feels safe, his personality blossoms—he becomes affectionate, wiggly, and loves a cuddle.
  • He will need a patient owner who understands that introductions to new people and new environments should be slow and on his terms.
  • Jake is currently living happily with another dog and has shown no issues around food, toys or attention.
  • On walks, he is non-reactive to other dogs and prefers to calmly go about his own business.
  • If Jake was to live with another dog, it would be best if it was one of similar energy and age.
  • He previously lived with cats in his foster home and did very well.
  • Jake is best suited to a home without children.
  • He is fully toilet trained and well behaved in the home, enjoying his naps and quiet time.
  • He can be left alone for short periods, but will need this built up gradually. Jake will bark initially when left, but settles with reassurance and routine, and is always very happy to see you return.
  • He enjoys gentle walks of around 20 minutes and walks beautifully on the lead.
  • Jake would thrive in a calm, quiet and loving home where someone is around most of the time and with owners who have patience and understanding of nervous rescue dogs.
  • He would suit a family looking for a loyal companion rather than a high-energy pet.
  • Despite his past, Jake is the sweetest, most loving little dog who just wants to feel safe and be close to his people. With the right home, he will make a deeply devoted and affectionate companion.
  • He is microchipped and fully vaccinated and neutered, and will arrive in any new home with his own passport clearly outlining all the various tests and vaccinations he has had (in line with DEFRA rules and regulations).  He will also come with a full APHA (UK) Certificate for Brucellosis which is NEGATIVE.
  • If you think you can offer Jake the ideal home he so deserves, please complete the Application Form.
