Mavis -
- Location: Safe Shelter Romania
- Mavis is medium in size.
- She is a kill shelter Survivor. She was initially reserved by someone else, but then abandoned and left there for six months until she came to Elcee’s. We moved her to a safe shelter.
- Understandably, she was very frightened when she first came out, worried about humans and difficult to touch.
- Since she came to us in February, she has come a long way – she is able to be touched and gets on well with the woman who runs the safe shelter, although she is wary of her husband.
- Mavis now accepts strokes, but is still extremely frightened of the harness and lead.
- There is still a way to go before she is ready. We want her to experience love and security, and eventually travel to her forever home in the UK when the time comes.
- She will be ready to travel to the UK once she is settled and assessed.
- She will have a medical examination, blood tests and vaccinations before travel.
- Please do not apply for Mavis at this stage.
