Winnie dog available for adoption
  • Location:  UK Foster Home in Nottinghamshire
  • Cody is small / medium size, and he is 4 years old.
  • He spent the first years of his life in a shelter with only one kennel companion.
  • As a result Cody was very shy and wary of humans. It has taken many weeks for him to relax and learn to be a dog. He loves being stroked and his favourite place is on the back of the sofa, near his foster mum and where he can watch out of the window.
  • Cody will need a calm home, with no children and someone with the patience and love to work on gaining his trust, and to realise this may take some time – he is definitely a slow burner.
  • He will need to be left to decompress and to ‘feel’ his way around his new surroundings and people. Once he trusts you he is friendly, cheeky and playful.
  • Cody is clean in the house – using the cat-flap to take himself outside.
  • He prefers to eat in the safety of his crate, with the door closed and is quick to learn when meal-times are – and to remind you! He shows no fear aggression towards either people or dogs.
  • He plays with his foster siblings at home and has recently discovered the joy of walks – although will spook at loud noises, so needs secure harness/leads. He settles well in the car to visit a secure field.
  • Cody will need a friendly, playful doggie companion, to help him feel secure and to show him the ropes of his new home.
  • He lives with a cat and shows not interest in them either indoors nor outside.
  • He is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated and will arrive in any new home with her own passport clearly outlining all the various tests and vaccinations he has had (in line with DEFRA rules and regulations).  He will also come with a full APHA (UK) Certificate for Brucellosis which is NEGATIVE.
  • If you think you can offer Cody the home that meets needs, and so deserves, please complete the Application Form.
