Winnie dog available for adoption
  • Location:  Foster home in Nottinghamshire
  • Lennie is medium size, and he is around 18 months old
  • When he first arrived he was an extremely shy and frightened boy, that has gradually gained confidence and has developed a friendly, loving and funny personality with his foster family.
  • Lennie will need time to adjust in any new home environment, and to take things at his own pace.  Once he feels comfortable he will follow you around everywhere, play with toys, play with his doggie friends and enjoy lots of fuss and attention.
  • He will need a home with another confident dog to help him settle, grow in confidence, for reassurance and for him to play with.
  • He currently lives with female foster siblings and this is what he would be best suited to in any new home.
  • It took him a very long time to want to go out for walks.
He did not feel safe in the big wide world outside, but he was more than happy to spend his time in the garden, which was much more enclosed and where he felt safe.
  • He loves to run around with his foster siblings in the garden and play chase.
  • He now will go out for walks, and enjoys sniffing and exploring, although can still be a little jumpy in busy places and built up areas.
He would therefore be best suited to a home in a quieter area where there was access to lots of quieter woodland walks, which he loves.
  • He walks well on his lead and prefers a slip lead and another lead attached to a Martingale collar, as he does not like the harness at all, and gets very worried if the harness is attempted to put on.
  • He loves company of his humans and his doggie friends.
  • He would need a calm, quiet home, with one or two adults only.
  • No children as he is easily started by loud noises or sudden movements.
  • A fully secure garden accessible directly from the house is essential for Lennie to feel safe and not to be pressured to walk outside until he has settled, feels calm and relaxed in the home and around his humans.
  • He is a very special boy, who has obviously undergone a lot of cruelty and trauma in his short life.
  • Given the time and patience he needs to settle, get used to his surroundings, his humans and his doggie pal(s) he will make an amazing dog.
  • He is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered and comes with the full APHA Brucellosis Certificate, which is negative.
  • He currently lives with 5 other female dogs in the home.
  • He is not cat tested and would be best in a cat free home
  • Currently in a foster home in Nottinghamshire
